Lawmakers from Costa Rica’s Liberal Progresista party and ruling Progreso Social Democrático party asked that a bill to promote green hydrogen be returned to the committee level for a new review.
The legislators made the recommendation during a second debate on the initiative at a plenary session.
Although the lawmakers agreed on the alternative fuel’s potential, they argued that its development should not be “at the expense” of state institutions and that the bill does not include incentives for SMEs, the legislative assembly reported.
The bill is available here using number 22392.
