Brazilian consultancy eyes Southern Cone, CentAm for supply chain projects

Brazilian company Ábaco Consulting, an SAP partner for IT industry projects, plans to expand in Latin America with projects in countries in the Southern Cone and Central America, José Ferreira, head of Integrated Business Planning (IBP) at Ábaco, told BNamericas.

The move comes after Ábaco's acquisition of Tangotech, a specialist in SAP solutions for IBP, which is a cloud-based supply chain planning solution that integrates different data across a company.

Founded in 2019, Tangotech provides consulting, resources and products focused on supply chain management

With the incorporation of Tangotech, ERP-focused Ábaco says it will have an end-to-end presence in management for enterprises, from demand structuring to supply, production, sales and distribution.

Tangotech began developing projects related to supply management with the fuel distribution sector in Brazil – Petronac (formerly Total Combustíveis) and Ipiranga – later expanding to other segments.

Payment service Getnet, electronics manufacturer Intelbrás, telco Algar, Renault, Whirlpool, and pharma groups EMS and Eurofarma are among Tangotech's other clients in the region.

With Renault, for example, the company has already developed projects for Brazil, Colombia and Argentina.

Ábaco, in turn, has been strong in projects to the fashion industry and has also previously developed projects for Guatemalan steelmaker AG.

With the consolidation, the group now intends to double its client portfolio and annual revenue in the next 12 months and strengthen its presence in sectors such as textiles, manufacturing and agribusiness.

“We're now designing the business plan for the next five years, with an initial focus on 2025,” said Ferreira.

The values involved in the deal were not disclosed.

Specifically in the pharmaceutical sector, Tangotech developed a first project three years ago for Brazilian company Eurofarma. It recently developed a new project for the group and, by 2025, the expectation is to roll out this particular initiative to Latin America.

The countries to which Eurofarma is considering taking the initiative include Chile, Guatemala, Colombia and Uruguay.
