Brazil’s Compass UOL looking to grow in AI, cloud with AWS

Brazil’s Compass UOL, one of the companies that make up the California-based AI/R Group, wants to advance in digital transformation projects based on support from Amazon Web Services (AWS).

As part of the initiative, the company reached the milestone of 1,000 AWS certifications granted to its professionals.

“These certifications are a reflection of the high technical competence of our team and prove our commitment to always be at the forefront of the market,” Luciano Guareschi, CEO of Compass UOL, said in a statement sent to BNamericas. 

The certifications encompass different levels and skills, ranging from cloud practitioner to certified specialty.

AI/R Group focuses on AI projects and encompasses digital services companies Avenue Code, Compass UOL, Edgy, Everymind, Invillia and WEBJUMP.

In June, Compass announced the acquisition of Texas-based Oak Rocket, a company specializing in AWS platforms.

The value and terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Compass also entered into a partnership with San Francisco firm Databricks to offer AI-based data solutions for companies.

Last week, AWS announced plans to invest 10.1bn reais (US$1.8bn) to expand its cloud infrastructure in Brazil in the next 10 years.
