Chile has scheduled 459 public works contracts involving 929bn pesos (US$975mn) to be tendered in November-December, with a variety of physical works, studies and consultancies on offer.

Over half of the total investments, or nearly 520bn pesos, are allocated to the roadworks division of the public works ministry (MOP), followed by the sanitary services subdivision with 128bn pesos, according to MOP’s planning office Dirplan.

The most important contracts up for grabs in the next two months are:

This contract is scheduled to be tendered in December and it entails conducting the studies required to draft the bidding rules for the future concession of a 172km rail link between capital Santiago and the port city of Valparaíso.

The tender for this project is scheduled for November. It involves upgrading a 13.4km section of roadway in Maule region. This is part of a broader effort to build a 49.7km road linking the town of Boyeruca in Vichuquén municipality (Maule region) with the Mataquito bridge in Licantén.
