Search for ICT professionals in Latin America shows no sign of slowing
Despite some caution regarding the prospects of Big Tech continuing to expand in a negative global macroeconomic context, the search for ICT professionals shows no sign of slowing.
The digitization boom and the competition for technological personnel inflate salaries and put even more pressure on the problem of scarcity.
Amazon has a total of 71,918 vacancies on Linkedin, of which 1,989 correspond to positions in Latin America.
In May, MercadoLibre announced that this year it will generate more than 14,000 new jobs in Latin America, which represents 46% growth in the number of direct employees.
In the IT area, the company intends to increase jobs by 4,000.
In Argentina, MercadoLibre has 200 job positions open for people trained in industrial engineering, business administration, administration and systems, economics, exact sciences or related careers, according to local media reports.
But the growth in demand comes not only from large companies, but also from local companies that compete in the search for personnel.
In May, software company Intive announced that it intended to add 1,000 employees in Latin America, both organically and inorganically, to double its current headcount by the end of 2023.
BairesDev, a software and digital solutions company, adds an average of 200 people to its team on a monthly basis.
It recently launched a ‘fast track’ hiring program in Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador and Mexico to accelerate the selection of 1,000 digital solutions development professionals.
Meanwhile, Microsoft publishes a total of 952 positions on Linkedin. In particular, the company is looking for cloud solutions architects, senior managers for cybersecurity and salespeople.
The software company Globant, which has been expanding with new offices in Argentina and Chile, has 477 jobs posted on the social network. In Chile, where it began operations this year, the company plans to hire up to 500 people.
Google has 154 jobs posted, also focused on the cloud area. The company has just announced the installation of a cloud region in Mexico – the third in Latin America – and the landing of the new Firmina submarine cable, which will connect the US with Argentina.
Meta, meanwhile, has only 31 jobs posted for Latin America on the Linkedin network.
