Acindar shareholders approve US$80mn debt issue

Shareholders of Argentine long steelmaker Acindar have approved a convertible bond issue of US$80mn, the company told the Buenos Aires stock exchange. The steelmaker, which has been in default since November 2001, has an outstanding debt of US$220mn that it is in the process of restructuring.
