Adexus expects US$55mn revenues this year
Bnamericas Published: Tuesday, May 17, 2005
Chilean systems integrator Adexus expects revenues of US$55mn this year, up 10% on 2004, CEO Carlos Busso told BNamericas. As in 2004, Chile should lead sales this year reaching US$45mn, up 6% compared to the US$42.5mn registered last year, followed by Peru with US$8mn, up from US$6.2mn and Ecuador with US$2mn, up from US$1.5mn. "We have been operating in Chile for 15 years and that is why the company has grown more here. In the other countries we are highly focused on corporations and not yet in other areas such as government," Busso said. In Chile, Adexus has a strong presence in the telecommunications and financing industries as well as within public institutions. Revenues from equipment and services sales are roughly equal but Adexus aims to grow the services area into a greater proportion, though Busso is aware it is not an easy process. Commenting on expansion strategies, Busso explained there are no definite plans for this year, however the company has already closed consultancy contracts in Venezuela and Puerto Rico, expecting to soon enter the Mexican market. "We are first eyeing consultancy and implementation contracts and if those work as expected we will launch a second stage of opening offices in some countries, but for this year there is nothing planned. We are still in the research phase and our main interest is to focus and increase our share in the Chilean market," he added. During 2004 the company reached quality certification level 3 in ITIL and level 2 of the Capability Maturity Model integration (CMMi) program, particularly for its project and development management team. Goals in the certification area are to end 2005 with level 3 in CMMi, unify all operations at level 4 in ITIL and continue implementing SixSigma. "By year-end we also plan to achieve BS 7799 certification, which would leave us well positioned in the Chilean market since we would be the first company in Chile with that certification," Busso added.
