Aguas Nuevo Sur renegotiates US$160mn credit

Chile's Region VII water utility Aguas Nuevo Sur has renegotiated a credit for some US$160mn with bank Banco Santander Central Hispano's London branch, Aguas said in a filing to the country's securities regulator (SVS). The renegotiation pushed back the payment deadline to December 6, 2005, from this past Monday (Dec.6), said the filing, which also announced the signing of a US$164mn swap contract with Banco Santander Chile. The UK's Thames Water controls Aguas Nuevo Sur that serves 619,000 residents with 99.7% drinking water coverage and 93.8% sewage collection coverage, while wastewater treatment stands at 23.8%.
