Aneel OKs price hikes for northern distributors

Brazil's electric power regulator Aneel has authorized price increases for three distributors in the country's north from November 30, the agency said in a statement. Acre state distributor Eletroacre was authorized to up rates 17.8%; Amapa state distributor CEA, 17.7%; and Rondonia power distributor Ceron, 17.8%. In a separate rate increase, Parana state power utility Copel said it plans to boost prices 15% in January, business daily Valor Economico reported.
