Aneel approves tariff hikes for northern utilities

Brazil's power regulator Aneel has authorized price increases for four utilities based in north of the country. The agency gave a price increase of 11.14% to Manaus Energia; a 19.15% increase to Boa Vista Energia; 21.84% to Companhia Energética de Roraima (CER); and 19.75% to Companhia Energética do Amazonas (Ceam). The new rates take affect November 1.
