Association: ISS is operating at 50% potential

Colombia's social security agency ISS is providing a very limited healthcare service, prompting a daily loss of affiliates, local daily El Universal quoted ISS's users association's president Ramiro Hoyos as saying. The fact that the ISS is operating 50% below its potential has provoked a steady stream of disaffiliation, Hoyos said. Hoyos has sent a letter to the private secretary of the country's President Alvaro Uribe outlining the financial crisis facing the ISS. "We need the President to intervene to save the agency and to take urgent measures including the establishment of a presidential committee to clarify the situation," Hoyes added.
