BB boosts Visa card billing 34% in June

Brazil's largest bank, the federally-owned Banco do Brasil (BB) boosted Visa credit and debit card billing 33.6% in June compared to the same month last year, the bank said in a statement. BB said total billing for Visa cards reached 18.4bn reais (US$6.07bn) at the end of June. According to BB, its increase in June was the largest among all Visa card issuers in Brazil. The federal bank also pointed out that during the last three years its billing from Visa cards had jumped by 88%. BB's Visa card billing in June represented 29% of total Visa card billing in Brazil, according to the bank.
