BB insurer sells 60,000 policies in low-income segment
Bnamericas Published: Wednesday, January 05, 2005
Brazilian federal bank Banco do Brasil's (BB) insurer Seguros Aliança do Brasil sold 60,000 life policies to low-income individuals last year, BB said in a statement. The insurer launched the BB Seguro Vida policy only six months ago and BB said the future sales potential is 12 million individuals at the bank alone. BB highlighted the fact that an impressive 70% of the policies were sold at self-service terminals. Aliança do Brasil is one of several insurance subsidiaries that BB controls or operates jointly with other partners. BB is Brazil's largest bank both in terms of assets and customers.
