BB may carry out issue before year end

Banco do Brasil (BB), Brazil's largest retail bank, may carry out another foreign fundraising operation before the year is out, the institution's international affairs vice-president Rosano Maranhao said Thursday. Maranhao said that such could occur because market conditions are "extremely favorable." He added that to September the bank raised $690 million and that since the start of the year is has increased the term of operations and reduced spreads. At its last issue Banco do Brasil raised 150 million euros on a 3.5 point spread, compared with 6.03 points at the year's first operation. by Gustavo Freire
