Clicadvogados Launches with US$2.5mn Investment

Brazilian Dbcon Desenvolvimento this month launched lawyers' community Clicadvogados (www.clicadvogados.com.br) in Porto Alegre with a US$2.5mn (R$5mn) investment, of which US$766,500 (R$1.5mn) went to marketing. The site is looking to become an online network for lawyers and their clients in the Rio Grande do Sul state. It offers specialized content, as well as website creation, hosting and maintenance for firms to create their own websites to promote and sell their services. Clicadvogados members can currently choose from some 70,000 different site models. The site also offers three different service packages, labeled Diamond, Gold and Silver. Diamond, the premium package, targets large firms and costs US$307 (R$600). It provides clients with website creation and hosting services, access to a search engine, newsletters and technological assistance. The most economic package, Silver, targets small practices, and costs US$1.53 (R$3) per month. It gives access to a search engine and technological assistance. Clicadvogados is based on the Microsoft SQL Server database and supports ASP, Java Script e VBScript.
