Bnamericas
Collahuasi copper mine in northern Chile's Region I expects copper concentrate production to fall 12% to 329,000t this year as a result of falling grades, Reuters news agency reported. Output of copper cathodes is seen rising 3.3% year-on-year to 63,000t. The mine, owned by Canada's Falconbridge (TSX: FL) and London-based Anglo American (LSE: AAL), is in the process of expanding treatment capacity to 110,000t/d from 60,000t. The US$650mn project is expected to be complete in June 2004.
