The Concordia-Convisa consortium has won the contract to surface the Cotapata-Santa Barbara road, a spokesperson with Bolivian national highway authority (SNC) told BNamericas. The consortium bid $6.89mn. Concordia-Convisa beat out seven other groups for the eight-month contract to surface the 49km road. A contract will be signed at the start of January, said the spokesperson. Cotapata-Santa Barbara forms part of the north-south Victor Paz Estenssoro highway, designed to link Bolivia with Argentina and Brazil. Works are scheduled for completion in July 2004. Construction is being led by a consortium of Bolivia's Copesa and Minerva and Brazil's Andrade Gutierrez.
