Congress to choose new banking regulator Nov.

Nicaragua's congress plans to select a new director for the banking authority in November, local daily Nuevo Diario reported. The regulator will serve a five-year term. According to the paper, most of the candidates favor reforming the country's banking law and imposing more stringent requirements governing the establishment of new banks in the country.
