Congress to demand Cotes probe

Bolivia's congress will call for a formal investigation into claims of corruption at Sucre-based telecoms cooperative Cotes, Corredor del Sur reported. The latest allegations surround the purchase of some US$50,000 of equipment for the company's television unit, Cotes TV, without approval of management or directors, the report said. "The board and finance committee of the cooperative should have played a role in this, it is not correct that these issues appear in the press...they should take their job more seriously," lower house representative Luis Melcon was quoted as saying.
