Copasa to pump US$46.8mn into Montes Claros

Bnamericas
Brazil's Minas Gerais state water utility Copasa will spend 128mn reais (US$46.8mn) in the municipality of Montes Claros through end-2009, the utility said. The principal work will be a 40mn-real sewage treatment plant system, whose technical details, as well as those of interceptors and collection network, will be drafted this year. Further, the plant's environmental licensing project also will be drafted and submitted to the state's environment regulator FEAM. The system will guarantee 100% sewage collection and treatment. Resources also will go to increase capacity of the Rio Verde Grande water supply system to 1,400 l/s.
