Countries exchange e-govt. notes

Bnamericas
Representatives from e-government programs in Argentina, Brazil and Mexico met this week in Brazil to exchange information and discuss cooperation efforts within the public sector information and communications technology sphere, according to Brazilian magazine IDG Now! Brazil's federal government wants to sign at least one cooperation agreement before the second half of the year, according to Patrícia Pessi, director of e-government at Brazil's planning ministry. "We will be meeting with the Mexicans to determine the best areas to work together," Pessi was reported as saying. There are various components of e-government that could help improve relations between the countries such as the creation of a public security database and reports on imports and exports, she added. "In addition to these possibilities, there are many public services that could be identified and which would facilitate access to information," Pessi said.
