Digicel plans regional moves

Bnamericas
Caribbean mobile firm Digicel Jamaica is launching new programs aimed at increasing its market share across the region for 2005, CEO Raoul Fontanez told local paper the Jamaica Gleaner. "Digicel is poised for continued success in the new year with plans to expand our footprint in the region and launch valuable new communications services for our customers," Fontanez was quoted as saying. The company recently began its 2005 promotional efforts by introducing rollover minute offers and a prepaid roaming service to the UK combined with separate holiday promotions across Jamaica. Launched in 2001, Digicel is the largest GSM operator in the Caribbean, according to the company. It currently operates in Aruba, Barbados, the Cayman Islands, Grenada, Jamaica, St. Lucia, St.Vincent and the Grenadines.
