Edegel sells US$14.3mn bonds at 4.125%

Peruvian generator Edegel placed three-year bonds totaling 50mn soles (US$14.3mn) on Wednesday at an interest rate of 4.13%, the company told the Lima stock exchange. Private pension funds (AFPs) bought 70% of the bonds, mutual funds bought 21% and state entities bought 9%, newspaper Gestion reported, adding that the issue was three times oversubscribed. The bonds are the third issue of series A bonds in the company's second bonds program, and pay interest every semester. Edegel has 1,029MW installed capacity and is controlled by generator Endesa Chile (NYSE: EOC).
