Enohsa to publish BA sewerage plant rules by end-Dec.

Argentina's national waterworks promotion and financing agency Enohsa expects to publish bidding rules to build four sewage treatment plants in Buenos Aires' greater metropolitan area by end-December, an Enohsa official told BNamericas. Although the rules had been expected by end-September, the official said issues regarding the plants' 276mn-peso (US$92.7mn) price tag and where the money will come from have delayed the process. Local development and foreign trade bank BICE is in the process of securing funds for the plants that will benefit 870,000 residents in the Reconquista river basin. The funds will also help finance construction of sewerage network mains (500mm diameter) that will connect to the plants, while Buenos Aires province will be responsible for the residential connections (200mm diameter). Enohsa is an umbrella agency, through which provinces and municipalities can seek financing to put projects out to tender themselves, although on occasion it does put out tenders for specific works and studies.
