Essbío submits Coronel wastewater system EIS

Chile's Region VIII water utility Essbío has submitted an EIS to the country's national environment authority Conama for a US$3.7mn wastewater treatment system for the town of Coronel, according to information on Conama's website. The project entails building a pre-treatment plant and underwater outlet pipe, which is geared to meet 100% of the town's environmental sanitation needs. The project fall under Essbío's US$120mn investment plan for the 2004-2006 period; the UK's Thames Water controls Essbío.
