Brazil's government will submit a bill to congress February 15 that would change the structure of regulatory agencies, government news agency Agencia Brasil reported. The bill aims to give the ministries more influence over planning and concessions in sectors such as waterworks, oil and gas, electricity and telecommunications, leaving regulatory agencies with more overseeing roles. Under the present system, regulators plan for their respective sectors and grant concessions, as well as overseeing the system.
