Infor: 35% of revenues from LatAm in 2007
Bnamericas Published: Tuesday, March 29, 2005
The Spanish unit of US industrial software developer Infor Global Solutions expects its sales in Latin America to represent 35% of total revenues in 2007, compared to 5% today, Infor Business Solutions Ibérica board member José Vicente Ruiz told BNamericas. "For Infor Ibérica, Latin America is a highly important strategic market," Ruiz said. The company started operating in the Chilean market in 2000, and now covers the country through five specialized partners: Alnitak, Vectium, Opta Consultores, Polo Sur and Cis IT Solutions. During 2004 Infor Ibérica also entered the markets of Mexico, Argentina, Venezuela and Uruguay, through distribution agreements with specialized partners from the industrial sector, Ruiz said. The outlook for this year is positive for the whole area, especially Chile and Mexico, which generate more short-term business. "For 2005 we expect 50 new operations within Latin America, with around 500,000 licenses sold," the executive said. Chilean distribution partner Alnitak recently implemented the Infor:PYME solution for SMEs on behalf of major Chilean irrigation companies Spargo and Tecnar, which specialize in irrigation systems for the agricultural export industry. The clients expect the solution to improve efficiency, selecting modules for management of procurement and materials, accounts and cash flow, sales and distribution, supplier relationships and machinery depots, as well as operations and project cost planning modules, Infor said in a statement. Infor Ibérica has 30 distributors in Spain and 14 in Latin America, which serve about 500 clients between them. Other suites sold by Infor include Infor:COM, for large industrial enterprises, and Infor:Scheduling, which manages the client's operating assets, such as machinery, tools and staff.
