Luz del Sur, Edegel sell bonds

Peruvian distributor Luz del Sur and generator Edegel both placed local bonds Thursday, the companies told the Lima stock exchange. Luz del Sur placed two-year bonds worth 34.8mn soles (US$10mn), the sixth issue of its series A bonds. The bonds bear annual interest of 4.03%, payable twice a year. Edegel sold three-year bonds worth 50mn soles, and will pay annual interest of 4.75%, also payable twice a year. The bonds are the fourth issue of the company's second series. Luz del Sur distributes 30% of Peru's power, and has some 697,000 customers in a 3,000 sq. km. concession area in the south of Lima. Edegel has 1,029MW installed capacity and is owned by generator Endesa Chile (NYSE: EOC).
