The government of Colombia is to provide 100bn pesos (US$37.5mn) to Magdalena department to spend on roads, El Heraldo reported, citing a report by national highways authority Invias. The spending program is intended to give Magdalena the three highway corridors that it needs, including 115km of the government's 2,500km road-paving program which is to be completed within two years. The principal corridors will connect El Banco and Mompox, including the Botón de Leyva bridge that will cost 17bn pesos. The third route is the La Gloria-Santa Ana road as part of the Pivijay-Salamina corridor.
