Bnamericas
Japan's Mitsubishi and Spain's Iberdrola submitted the only offers Thursday (November 6) for the 431-527MW Tuxpan V combined cycle thermoelectric project in Mexico's Veracruz state, a source with state power company CFE told BNamericas. Eight companies purchased bidding documents by the October 31 deadline, the source said, adding participation levels have been positive. The CFE will now review the two technical offers and open economic offers December 11. The contract winner will build and operate the plant, selling energy to CFE for 25 years. Construction is scheduled to start July 2004 and wrap up September 2006.
