Newly paved road collapses in San Fernando

Bnamericas
Trinidad & Tobago Prime Minister Patrick Manning has suggested that the only solution to the caving-in of the Tarouba Link road, in San Fernando municipality, will be to write off the entire highway, paper Trinidad Express reported. Manning said the newly paved road is built on a fault vein and that "repairing it will require an engineering solution that will cost millions of dollars." The highway collapsed following heavy rainfall in Tarouba in mid-November, the report said. The Tarouba Link road is one of the most congested highways in San Fernando, the second largest city in the country.
