Northair snaps up Las Moras

Vancouver-based International Northair Mines (TSX-V: INM) has acquired the 450ha Las Moras gold property in northern Mexico's Durango state for US$86,000 in payments, the company announced Tuesday. "Detailed" property exploration such as geological mapping, sampling and hand trenching starts "early" this month, followed by mechanical trenching, the company said. Northair has discovered high-grade, low-sulfidation gold veins on the property, with first-phase samples averaging 18.4g/t gold and 7.88g/t silver. The company discovered separate copper-lead-zinc mineralization, where representative grab zones averaged 0.35% copper, 0.26% lead and 0.96% zinc. Northair has staked concessions "covering highly prospective ground" in adjacent areas, and is pursuing "a number of projects for possible acquisition," it said. Apart from Las Moras, Northair holds the Sierra Rosario, El Tropico and El Tesoro mineralization properties in Mexico.
