Overpass, road works due by June

Works on an overpass for Nicaragua's northern highway, under direction of the transport and infrastructure ministry are due by June, the government announced. Works also include repairs and expansions to the Portezuelo-La Subasta stretch for 65mn córdobas (US$4.2mn), financed by the World Bank and counterpart funding from the government. Local companies Meco Santa Fe and CENCO are carrying out works. The overpass will relieve vehicle traffic on the northern highway, the statement added, while some 12,000 vehicles/d are expected to use the overpass.
