PCR assigns Edelnor bond rating

Peruvian credit ratings agency Pacific Credit Ratings (PCR) has assigned its pAA+ rating to corporate bonds issued by power distributor Edelnor, PCR said in a statement. PCR also assigned its First Class, Level 1 rating to the Edelnor's common shares and its p1 rating to the company's short-term instruments, the statement said. The ratings reflect the wide experience and knowledge of the electrical distribution business of Edelnor's parent, Chilean power sector holding Enersis, which is reflected in the continuing reduction of power losses. The risk of the distribution business is low, the statement said, adding that Edelnor's low level of debt and strength in equity allow it obtain financing from varied sources to carry out its projects at competitive terms and rates.
