Palm relocates regional call center ops

Bnamericas
US wireless devices manufacturer Palm (Nasdaq: PALM) has signed a contract to outsource its Latin American customer service operations to Argentine call center operator Next, Buenos Aires paper El Cronista reported. Palm and Next have been working together in Argentina for seven years, and the latest agreement, for two years, provides for an expansion of the contract to include the rest of the region. Next's call center employs 350 customer services representatives and the company does not foresee an expansion of its workforce to cover the new deal with Palm. Other clients include local cable modem operator Fibertel and bank Banco Rio. Palm's regional call center operations were previously based in Mexico.
