Pilot income tax program available on internet

Brazil's tax agency Receita Federal is making a pilot income tax program available on the internet for taxpayers to test and evaluate at www.fazenda.gov.br until December 29, online news service Ultimo Segundo reported. The tax bureau made the test pilot available so that taxpayers can understand the program and point out flaws and suggestions to facilitate filling out the declaration, which every year has a March deadline. According to information from the bureau, taxpayers will be able to choose between the Windows and Java operational versions that can be used on any platform such as Linux, MacOS X, Solaris or Windows. This is the second year that the tax bureau is releasing a version to be tested and evaluated by users. Last year, more than 2,000 messages with suggestions and criticisms about the program were received.
