Political risk drives insurgence coverage demand

Bnamericas
Venezuela's unstable political situation has increased demand for insurance policies that include insurgence coverage, local daily El Universal reported. Demand is greater in some parts of Venezuela where political disturbances have been more frequent, Venezuela's industry confederation (Conindustria) treasury Carlos Larrazabal was quoted as saying. As an example, local supermarkets have upped their demand for insurance against insurgency, as they have been targets for political unrest in some high-risk zones, he said. The high level of political risk in Venezuela has also pushed up the prices for insurance policies that include insurgence coverage, the paper noted.
