Region IX tunnel works begin Feb.

Ferrovial Agroman Chile will begin improvement works worth 2.92bn pesos (US$4.93mn) on the Las Raices tunnel in Region IX in February, regional public works secretary Yazmin Balboa announced. Works on the 4.5km tunnel, which lies on the Pino Hachado international highway, will take a little under two years and include paving, drainage and lighting works, as well as sealing interior filtrations. The project also entails improving the La Raices hill alternative road.
