Samex makes 1st payment on additional El Zorro holdings

British Columbia-based Samex has signed and made the first payment of US$30,000 to acquire 209ha of additional mineral concessions covering gold prospects in central Chile's El Zorro district, the minerals exploration company said. As previously reported, Samex is paying a total of US$230,000 in staged installments for the concessions, which are also subject to a net smelter return royalty. Samex (TSX-V: SXG) is currently carrying out air-photo and topographic surveys, geologic mapping, sampling and assaying at El Zorro, an area with numerous small abandoned mines, it said.
