Seduma to invest US$16.4mn in Fortem works

The urban development & environment ministry (Seduma) of southeast Mexico's Quintana Roo state will invest 180mn pesos (US$16.4mn) in second-phase works of a state & municipal development program (Fortem), the state government announced. Works will include a rainwater drainage system for state capital and border city Chetumal, remodelling of Alvaro Obregon avenue, a landfill in Cozumel island and construction of streets in various southern municipalities. The bidding process to remodel Alvaro Obregon and carry out the Cozumel landfill will be ready by end-October and will require some 96mn pesos (US$8.8mn) and 18mn pesos in investments, respectively. State drinking water and sewerage commission Capa will head up drainage works, the statement added.
