Sonora city building landfill

Bnamericas
The municipality of San Luis Río Colorado in northern Mexico's Sonora state has started building a sanitary landfill, the North American Development Bank (NADB), a project sponsor, announced. The NADB has agreed to a US$1.0mn loan and a US$500,000 grant to support the US$4.0mn project, which is designed to serve the area's 170,000 residents. Works also entail closing the city's open-air dump and improving municipal sanitation services, the NADB said. "Once this project is completed, we will have a cleaner city and healthier environment for residents," San Luis Río Colorado mayor José Palafox said.
