Stefanini seeks banking contracts with Misys

Brazilian IT firm Stefanini IT Solutions is in talks with two Brazilian financial institutions to install financial software systems developed by Britain's Misys, local press reported. The talks are to install a currency and foreign trade system at one bank, and treasury services at another, the reports said. Under the partnership recently signed with Misys, Stefanini plans to go after international clients with offices in Brazil. For example, Banco do Brasil uses Misys products for its offices in the UK and Japan, while Itaú uses them in Portugal and the United States. In the future, Stefanini's software factories could provide offshore development services for Misys, and it will also provide helpdesk services for Misys' global customers. Misys builds software and solutions for the banking, securities and healthcare segments worldwide, with 1,200 customers and revenues of US$1.7bn in the last fiscal year.
