StorageTek adds new distribution partner

US data storage company StorageTek (NYSE: STK) has expanded its distribution channels in South America with the addition of Chilean firm AQB, the company said in a statement. AQB will complement StorageTek's existing agreement with Argentine distributor TelexTorage. StorageTek plans to use Argentina as a springboard to tap other markets in the Cono Sur, excluding Chile. To this end, the company recently named Oscar Parafita as Cono Sur regional manager. "The current expansion and incorporation of human resources at StorageTek responds to our bet on the local market and addition of new businesses. At the same time, the incorporation of AQB as a new channel of distribution gives us greater opportunity to strengthen our sales in the Cono Sur," StorageTek Latin America director Italo Peirano said.
