Venalum signs up police force

Bnamericas
Venezuela's state aluminum maker CVG-Venalum has reached an agreement with the scientific, penal and criminal investigation department of Guayana City to control the theft of aluminum products from the company, local press reported. The agreement, to be signed late November, envisages the police providing technical support to the company, while Venalum will provide equipment to optimize police investigative work. The largest primary aluminum smelter in Latin America, Venalum is based in Puerto Ordaz, in the southeastern state of Bolivar. It is 80% owned by state heavy industry holding CVG, while a group of Japanese trading companies has the remaining 20%.
