AFPs post assets of US$46.8bn

Chile's pension fund managers (AFPs) posted assets under management of US$46.8bn at the end of October this year, the country's industry regulator SAFP said in statement. The AFPs' asset figure at end-October represents a 14.01% increase compared to US$41.02bn at the same time last year. Of these funds US$1.9bn corresponded to assets within Fund A, US$6.59bn to Fund B, US$31.4bn to Fund C, US$4.78bn to Fund D and US$2.05bn to Fund E. The AFPs offshore investment portfolio stood at US$10.5bn at end-October, representing 22.4% of total assets within the local pension system and up 64.2% compared to an offshore investment portfolio of US$6.38bn at the same time 2002.
