Ahmsa issues US$26mn in bonuses

Mexican steelmaker Ahmsa will issue 300mn pesos (US$26mn) in holiday bonuses this month to some 16,000 workers in its two plants in Monclova, Coahuila state, local newspaper El Norte reported. The Monclova-based company has capacity of 3Mt/y and describes itself as Mexico's biggest integrated steelmaker. It also has coal and iron ore mines. Ahmsa is expected to release third quarter 2003 results this month after announcing a 30-day delay in October.
