Alestra concludes local telephony expansion

Mexican long distance operator Alestra has finished the expansion of local telephony services to 13 cities in Mexico for an investment of US$13mn, the company said in a statement Wednesday. Alestra local service is now available in the following urban centers: Ciudad de Mexico, Monterrey, Guadalajara, Cd. Juarez, Puebla, Toluca, Queretaro, San Luis Potosi, Tijuana, Torreon, Leon, Aguascalientes and Saltillo AT&T owns 49% of Alestra while Onexa - a joint venture between local bank BBVA Bancomer and Mexican industrial group Alfa - holds the other 51%.
