
Alloha Fibra signs R$148 million financing agreement with BNDES

São Paulo, August 2024 - Alloha Fibra, the third largest company in terms of number of subscribers and fiber optic extension in the country and the largest independent player in this segment, celebrated the signing of the financing term with the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES).
The ceremony took place at the Convention Center of the Federal University of Maranhão (UFMA) and was attended by Felipe Matsunaga, Vice President of Investor Relations and New Business at Alloha Fibra, Leandro Salatti, Director of Institutional Relations at Alloha Fibra, as well as several authorities, including the Minister of State for Communications, Juscelino Filho, the Governor of the state of Maranhão, Carlos Brandão Junior, the Secretary of Telecommunications Hermano Barros Tercius, the acting Secretary of State for Education, Anderson Lindoso and Carlos Eduardo Azen, representative of BNDES.
The BNDES credit line, worth R$148 million, originating from the Telecommunications Services Universalization Fund (FUST), will be used to expand the availability of fixed broadband services in 18 municipalities in Maranhão and 9 in Pará, benefiting more than 500 thousand people in these regions.
In addition to the resources provided by BNDES, Alloha Fibra's project includes additional investments with its own resources to modernize the Long Distance network in Maranhão and expand high-speed internet coverage in cities that face significant challenges in this regard. The operator will install state-of-the-art fiber optic technologies, ensuring a more stable and efficient connection.
