Amdocs to help América Móvil's digital transformation
US software company Amdocs has been selected by América Móvil to help the digital transformation of Claro Chile and Claro Puerto Rico.
During the quarterly results call, Amdocs CEO Shuky Sheffer also said the company has signed a three-year agreement with Claro Brasil to support the post-payment business and provide digital transformation services.
Additionally, Amdocs' media division, Vubiquity, extended an agreement with VTR and signed a multi-year contract with Telefónica Hispanoamérica.
Vubiquity will provide content acquisition, curation and administration services to support the Movistar Play platform in Latin America, including the markets of Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Peru.
In Chile, the agreement with VTR contemplates the provision of content from Hollywood and independent studios for VTR+ on-demand television services.
Additionally, it will provide marketing services to improve VTR’s performance analysis and maximize content exposure.
Last year, the company signed contracts with Telefónica to expand managed services in Brazil and Chile. In addition, it was announced that Movistar Peru extended Amdocs' commercial and operational support systems to its fixed telephony services for companies.
ACQUISITIONS
Amdocs wants to accelerate the industry’s cloud transition, Sheffer said.
He announced the acquisition of Sourced Group, a technology consultancy specializing in cloud transitioning services for large business clients, including communications and financial services.
The company provides a cloud migration platform, development framework, and reliable design process through agreements with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud. The acquisition will complement Amdocs' cloud native product portfolio.
RESULTS
In the company’s second fiscal quarter, Amdocs reported record managed services revenues of US$635mn. Managed services represented 61% of revenues.
Overall revenues were US$1.05bn, a 5.7% annual increase measured in constant currency.
Net result was US$119mn, down from US$127mn in the same quarter last year.
Amdocs improved its forecasts for the full fiscal year, driven by optimistic expectations for the second half.
