Ancap takes up cement exports again

Uruguay's state oil company Ancap is again exporting cement to Argentina, Argentine news service Infobae quoted Ancap president Jorge Sanguinetti as saying. However, Ancap's joint venture with Argentine cement giant Loma Negro - created in 2001 - has not been abandoned, and that plans call for "deepening" the agreement, he added. Under the joint venture, Ancap holds 55% of the company called Cementos La Plata and Loma Negra the remainder. Plans to jointly sell cement products took a back seat after cement demand in Argentina fell due to the country's economic crisis.
